Trio Volume 3: It’s all about the joyride!

Sangita Ekka, March 13, 2025March 16, 2025

After an action-packed ending in Volume 2, the Trio required a much-needed rest, and the third volume offers them exactly that! It’s Holi time, and the orphanage is all decked with colors and colorful children. Our beloved Trio, Ge Bo So, enjoyed the festival too.

As mentioned in Trio Volume 1, anime has been a source of entertainment for a global audience and a cultural export. The Japanese have shared the figments of their country and culture through food, dressing, and inspiration from real places across provinces to portray landscapes and sets in anime productions. Legendary animator Hayao Miyazaki also takes a similar approach in his films, and Spirited Away is doused with cultural references.

Catering to India’s cultural diversity is a tall order. While fun and frolic are the central themes in Trio Volume 3, the creators have also introduced the cultural nuances of Jharkhand, Bihar, and West Bengal. The reader enjoys the Manga and gets educated at the same time.

Sarhul festival of Jharkhand, the delicious street food Jhal Muri, and the nooks and cranies of Kolkata are fused in Trio Volume 3 without deviating from the plot and narrative. Notable historical figures Subhash Chandra Bose, Satyajit Ray, and Ravindranath Tagore find their way into this Manga, along with a clever merging of one of Tagore’s popular stories.

As of March 2025, Trio from Vaibhavi Studios is a work in progress. Each volume offers a glimpse of the villain Eka’s next monster and further unfolding of the trio’s adventures.

As this book comes to a promising completion, Trio Volume 4 looks like prep work for more action-packed panels.

KUBO AND THE TWO STRINGS – A MUST WATCH!

May 12, 2019August 20, 2020

Kubo and the two strings is a celebration of storytelling. It takes nothing less than magic for a creator’s creations to breathe and that is wonderfully depicted throughout. You will feel all the emotions, predictability takes a backseat here but what makes this movie one of the finest is that it adds another milestone to what human touch is capable of accomplishing.
