FOOTPRINTS ON THE SAND

Sangita Ekka, May 11, 2019October 11, 2021

Close your eyes and see the view
That light has wielded for you to see,
Embrace what your heart beholds
Beyond the foggy sea.

Witness the sun rays rip the clouds,
And daring gulls measure the endless sky;
Where in deep fathoms darkness shrouds,
And whales sing lullaby.

Feel the wind, feel your spirits roar
Fill your prow and sails with pride!
Pull anchor and let mast soar,
Towards Promised Land you stride.

Hold fast, hold strong!
For winds howl and instill fright
And tell tale of bygone eras
Of ships that drowned at night.

Find fear in heart, on storm’s approach;
Hunt for hope that it might pass by;
Despair and forge a new courage,
Steering through to moonlight.

Remember this night, it will not come again
When reflects moon on water still;
And sinks in, the subdued storm;
By an indomitable will.

Behold the sight, it’s the Promised Land!
Barren, like nothing you hold dear,
Stripped naked, without a soul
But ruins and wear!

Oh! How far have you come, and this you see!
Breaks the heart beyond mend,
“Nothing left of this Cursed Land,
But stained hope ingrained”.

Then something strange desired your heart,
“You shall not desert this land!”
You promised you won’t depart,
You promised to amend.

Half a century passed in a glimpse,
Your lungs still draw breath!
You contrived a piece of history,
Just moments before your death.
Promised Land is promising still,
And men with dreams will follow;
Some far beyond by windowsills,
Dreams a lad, bright and callow.

They too must cross the foggy sea,
They too must set sail
All of them may voyager be,
But many of them will fail.

Time shall pass in its own pace,
And you shall count on fate;
For someone who won’t see your face
Eternally you shall wait.

Eons after when your soul frail,
And scatters about this Promised Land;
In some other age, some other soul
Shall find your footprints on the sand.

LABELLED REBEL!

May 8, 2019October 11, 2021

Every great story that we read and make the children read is about rebellion, about what’s right! So in what state of mind are the outdated ideas imposed on us! They tell us to grow up, be independent and take our own decisions but when its actually time to do so; its the imposing process all over again. As long as the habits of one person are not harming the other or the society in a physical, mental or “MORAL” way it is “RIGHT”.

A SILENT NIGHT

January 27, 2019October 11, 2021

A woman is a soul of mystery, sometimes to herself as well. She can take the pain of an entire ocean yet not shed a tear. She can be a need for a hundred souls, an inspiration to the fallen and shoulder to the broken. She can become everything one needs her to be. But sometimes she’s just her; dreamer like a child and winged like a free bird; trying to let go everything; dying to be alone…
